About Adam

Adam discovered journalism as a midshipman at the U.S. Naval Academy, when he served as an assistant public affairs officer on the USS Constitution for its historic 200th anniversary sail, giving interviews to CNN, CBS, and USA Today.

While pursuing a master's degree in international affairs at Florida State University, Adam edited and wrote full-time for the Tallahassee Democrat. In 2007, he moved to New York to attend Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism and began working for The Village Voice. Since then, he has worked at The Wall Street Journal and written for numerous publications, including The New York Times, The Village Voice and Mother Jones magazine.

In 2008 and 2009, Adam will be stationed in Al Faw Palace on Camp Victory, Baghdad, Iraq, to assist Multi-National Corps - Iraq in fulfilling its public-affairs and information-operations missions with domestic, pan-Arab and internal media audiences.

Adam also appeared on Jeopardy! for three days in 2005, before forgetting that Montana is the fourth largest American state. The first thing he bought with his prize money was a tattoo.
